Búzios,
Brazil, is one of the best destinations in the world
for Sun Lovers. Armação dos Búzios,
popularly known just as Búzios, is a small
town about 175 kilometers East of Rio de Janeiro.
Located on an eight kilometers long peninsula, Buzios
has small hills with elevations of up to 120m above
the sea. Alto de Buzios is one of those hills, and
from there you can enjoy breathtaking views of many
of the peninsula's 23 world celebrated beaches, exotic
landscapes, tropical islands a stone throw from land,
along with the ocean on both sides of the peninsula;
a romantic setting for the most memorable experience.
The city acquired international notoriety after
french legend Brigitte Bardot visited the city in
1964. That opened the flood gates of the world most
famous jet setters, from Mick Jagger to Raquel Welch,
to Madonna, and in 2012 Buzios was elected World
Beach at the International Tourism Convention in
Europe. Today the city is known by many around the
world as the Brazilian Saint Tropez ...
With its warm tropical climate, and mild ocean
breezes, Buzios offers sunshine and pleasant temperatures
all year round, with summers in the 30 to 40 centigrade
degrees, and winters in the 20's 30's. The area
boasts the lowest rainfall in the State of Rio de
Janeiro, only about 750 mm annually.
Yachting sports lovers, wind and kite surfers,
all are attracted to the northeastern side of the
Buzios peninsula by the winds, typically high in
the area, and ideal to practice these sports. The
southwestern side of the peninsula instead offers
gentler waters, better suited for fun water sports
like snorkeling, scuba diving, swimming, water-skiing,
tubing, parasailing, or banana boating.
Art, culture, sport, live music, entertainment
and much more complement life in Búzios.
The City is home to a multitude of cultures. Large
numbers of Argentineans, Italians, French, and Spanish
call Buzios home, and their influence has enriched
the local cuisine. Buzios in fact offers a variety
of restaurants vaunting eclectic Italian, French,
Brazilian, Argentineans or Japanese-Italian menus,
combining both classic and local dishes with contemporary
cuisine and presentations. From fresh seafood to
